About Us

A Ramsey Company Focused on Railings

Who We Are

Exterior & Interior Railings Ramsey is a railing contractor based at 5 S Island Ave in Ramsey, New Jersey. We design, install and repair railings for homes and businesses. That is the whole business. We do not build kitchens, paint houses or pour driveways. We put our time into one category of work and try to do it very well.

That focus matters because railings sit at the point where safety and appearance meet. A railing that looks good but moves when you lean on it is not finished. A railing that is solid but looks out of place on the house is not finished either. Our job is to deliver both.

Why We Specialize in Railings

Railings look simple, but the details decide how well they work. How a post is anchored into concrete, how a handrail follows the angle of the stairs, how a guard meets a porch column and how water drains around a post base all affect how long a railing lasts. Working on railings every day means we see these details constantly and know where problems tend to start.

It also means we can give straight answers. When someone asks whether aluminum or iron is better for their front steps, or whether an old railing is worth repairing, we can explain the tradeoffs clearly because we deal with those questions every week.

Residential Projects

Most of our work is for homeowners in Ramsey and nearby towns. Typical projects include replacing rusted front step railings, adding railings to new decks and porches, updating interior staircases with metal balusters and installing handrails on basement or garage steps. Many homeowners come to us after noticing a railing that wobbles, rusts or simply looks dated.

We treat every home with care. That means protecting floors and landscaping, keeping the work area tidy and making sure you know what is happening each day.

Commercial Projects

We also install railings for businesses, offices and multi unit buildings. Commercial work often includes entrance railings, ramp handrails, interior stair railings and balcony guards. We coordinate with owners and property managers to plan around business hours and keep customers and residents safe during the job.

Custom Railing Solutions

Some spaces do not fit a standard product. Curved approaches, uneven steps, odd angles, original details that need to be matched and specific design ideas all call for a more custom approach. We take measurements carefully, talk through options and help turn ideas into practical plans. See our custom railings page for more on how that works.

How We Work With Customers

We keep the process simple. You call or send a request. We visit, measure and talk through what you want. You receive a written estimate that lists the material, style and scope. Once you approve it, we order or fabricate the railing, schedule the installation and walk the finished work with you.

Clear communication is a big part of that. We return calls, show up when we say we will and explain any surprises before they become problems. If we think a repair will serve you better than a replacement, we will say so.

Serving Ramsey and Bergen County

Ramsey is our home base and our main focus. We also work in nearby Bergen County communities including Mahwah, Allendale, Upper Saddle River, Saddle River, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Waldwick, Ho-Ho-Kus and Ridgewood.
